National Volunteer Week

This week marks ‘National Volunteer Week’. It’s a time of reflection to acknowledge the contribution that volunteers not only make to our community, but across Australia and indeed the world.

For us, the Department of Health & Ageing simply does not fund us for delivery, so reliance on the volunteer component is critical to the survival of the service.  

Often the contribution of volunteers is measured in dollars, but for our customer base it is so much more.  It’s about the personal connection that each of you make to the customer, the friendly hello, the conversation – all as important, or perhaps more important, than the delivered meal.

Please accept our sincere thanks and appreciation for the work you all do.  It’s a pleasure and privilege to work with each of you and to hear the chatter whilst collating your deliveries is magic!
