Interested in volunteering with Sutherland Food Services? It’s a great opportunity to get involved with your local community, meet new people, and make a real difference.
We have a range of volunteer opportunities available in the Sutherland Shire to suit your availability and skills. You can read about each of the roles on this page and use the Volunteer Application Form to let us know you’re interested in joining our local volunteer team.
Once you have submitted the form, our team will get in touch with you to discuss further, answer any of your questions and let you know of the next steps.
Please note that a New South Wales Police Check, current COVID vaccination, and volunteer training are mandatory for all roles. Please also disclose any pre-existing conditions or injuries that may be relevant to your volunteering role – this helps us to understand you better and offer you a volunteer role that will suit you and your abilities best so that we can continue to serve those in our local community as a well-rounded team.
Volunteer Role
Descriptions
Attending our office on the grounds of Sutherland Hospital and collecting meals, run sheet and information and attending to delivery in a timely manner.
Notes• Use your own car
• Must be insured and registered
• $10 Petrol Card reimbursement
Picking meals from our walk-in freezer. Assembling orders and packing ready for drivers to collect. Completion of associated paperwork.
Notes• Able to work in freezer
• Primarily on your feet
• PPE clothing provided
• 8am start
General office duties, answering phones, taking meal orders. Mail collation.
Notes• Basic computer skills
• Pleasant phone manner
