Make a difference

With your help, we can support seniors in our Sutherland Shire community to live happy, healthy, independent lives. Our volunteers enjoy meeting our customers and making sure they’re safe and well every time they drop by or give them a call.

If you’re seeking to make a positive difference in the community, meet like-minded people, challenge yourself, learn new skills and add value to people’s lives, we strongly encourage you to join our time.

How can I help as a volunteer?

Many volunteer roles are available at Sutherland Food Services including:

  • Administration

  • Packing of meals

  • Meal delivery and support

Volunteers who provide meal delivery, support and companionship to customers are required to use their own car and a petrol reimbursement is provided.

What is the time commitment of a volunteer?

Anything from a couple of hours a month, to one or more full days a week – the choice is yours.

Will I receive training as a volunteer?

All volunteers are provided with full training through our online training module. Volunteers also receive an induction with our staff and are paired with an experienced volunteer to share their experience and advice.
